The Aurora Fossil Museum has giant murals, old Native American artifacts and ancient fossils and fossil replicas, all displaying the natural and cultural history of the region. It is located in Aurora, just across the street from its own Miocene-age fossil pile. Archaeologists of all ages are invited to dig through the pile and maybe find an ancient shark tooth or shell of their own.
Museum open Mon. - Sat. 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Sun 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Fossil pile open daily sunrise - sunset.
Free.
